How are you going with spurring your brothers and sisters on in faith?

I'm always struck by the encouragement in the word for Christians to build each other up.

The new testament is filled with letters to churches, each sewn with exhortations to encourage one another.

The writer of Hebrews urges the church to "...consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

Paul explains in Ephesians 4:29 that the language we use to build up is not corrupting, but grace-filled.

How are you going with spurring your brothers and sisters on in faith? What do your conversations with other Christians sound like?

Act

Encourage someone today! Send them a message, a letter, give them a hug. Go get a coffee (or beverage of choice, though coffee is arguably the best option) with a friend to read the bible and pray with one another! Get into the habit of meeting together. Be intention, be present and be vulnerable. Be praying that, by God’s grace and for His glory,  you will speak in a way that builds others up.
