What I learnt in a hard season

A word I received on the 27th June 2017:

“I’m never too far away.
I will always be by your side.
It may be unclear at this moment, but it will soon all fall into place.
Just stay close to me.
Stop pretending, everything is okay.
Stop caring what other people may think,
they are just as broken as you are.
Choose Kindness.”

This was written/received at a time where my relationship with God wasn’t as close as I would have liked it to be. It came from a place of great confusion and desperation. I thought that God was ashamed of me and didn’t want to help me because I thought that he would think I was using Him as I had not talked to him properly for so long (being caught up with life and its struggles).

But now when I reflect on that point of time, I found that no matter how far away from God I got/may get, He still cares for me. He still looks after me, protects me, guides me, and puts people and situations in my life to glorify and notice His existence. I want you to understand dear child of God, that no matter how far away you may run from him, no matter how down you get, no matter how broken you are, no matter how poorly you view yourself or how disappointed you think God is with you - He never stops viewing you as His beloved, beautiful Child; His precious creation that He will never stop loving. He views you with so much potential, so much talent- with so much love that we cannot fathom because we are used to filling our mind with doubts and worries. When we are silent to Him but then reach out, He is filled with joy, not contempt; He wants us to reach out to him so that we do not carry our burdens by our self.

‘So be content with who you are and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you: he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God: he is most careful with you.’ 1 Peter 5:6-7 (The Message)

Prayer for today: Thank you God for your unending care and love for me. Thank you that no matter how far away I stray from you, you continue to place things in my life to show your existence and care. Thank you that there is nothing that I can do that will tear your love away from me.
