What do I do when I feel tired?

Jesus was tired.  In John 4:6 it says that Jesus was tired and he was so tired that he had to sit by the well and ask the Samaritan woman for a drink.

Last night as I was reading the parable of the Samaritan woman the line “Jesus was tired” stood out so clearly, I think it made me feel at ease that I wasn’t alone in feeling tired that in fact it is normal to feel tired!

I think often times we find things that help us to switch off, relax and be renewed of energy. Just because you are tired doesn’t mean that others all of a sudden stop watching you, in fact tiredness doesn’t give us an excuse to have negative responses to things

Imagine how tired Jesus would have been, He just walked a long way and was in constant demand of attention by others, when Jesus was tired He didn’t switch off from His purpose. In fact even in His tiredness God used Him to preach such an important message to us and the woman! He explained that when we feel tired we need to plug into our power source… GOD!  John 4:14 says, “but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life!”

God sees when you are tired, He knows what you are capable of and He knows when you need to rest!  I pray that when you feel tired you plug into Him.. may His word renew your mind, His presence refresh your soul and His love pick you up and increase your energy levels.
