Let’s go above and beyond for people

Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbours together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

  • Luke 15:3-7

A hard-hitting, beautiful and heart convicting parable. I love that Jesus teaches through metaphors, it’s such a simple way for us to comprehend His mighty message.

I absolutely adore this passage in Luke. You see, we live in a world where striving to be more, to have more and to become better than others is so prevalent. It’s sad. We base our worth on followers and likes rather than in the hands of our Father. We need the latest and greatest to satisfy ourselves. Friends, we are missing the point. Instead of chasing earthly ‘things’ let’s join hands in striving to be more like Jesus, to love like he does — so much so we leave people stunned. My goal for you this week is to go after your one! You know exactly who I’m talking about. The one you instantly thought of when you read this parable. I believe Jesus etches someone special in each of our hearts to go after, to love radically and to really sow into. Be brave in the wild pursuit of loving big, loving gently and loving without limits!
