The belt of truth

The belt that Roman Soldiers wore in bible times was called a balteus. A soldier's sword hung from his belt. The sword in Ephesians is referred to as the "Word of God". So the belt of truth holds the Word of God - the Word is truth. The Word (truth) is what we live by.

The world would have you believe that truth is what we make it, good and evil a matter of opinion - but that is actually not true. God defines good and evil in His Word - plain and simple. "For the word of the Lord is right and true"

  • Psalm 33:4

Gird up your mind with God's truth - everyday read the bible and store it up in your heart. 1 Peter 1:13 "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ..."

Act -

Prayer for today: God I pray that you reveal to me any area of my life that I am not walking in truth and help me to change that and to gird my loins with your truth. Amen

Song for today: "Thy Word" by Amy Grant.

Questions for today: think about or journal today's questions
